Position: Human Resource Specialist

Pay Range: Starting at $47K salary based on experience and skillset

Location: Kaysville, Utah (Davis County) - Full Time Position

This HR Specialist position compensation starts at $47k/year, (depending on experience). We also offer medical, vision, dental, a 401(k) program with a 4% match, profit-sharing, 11 official paid holidays plus additional earned days, generous paid time off (PTO), generous parental leave, a yearly earned President's Club paid trip, and a diversity program as well as free breakfasts, snacks, and drinks at the office. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible mainly for recruiting, training, and onboarding along with assisting in the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to hiring and interviewing staff, onboardings/offboardings, and administer company policies and practices. Responsibility Description:

Must have solid communication skills and the ability to stay impartial and objective. Candidates should possess general knowledge of Human Resources and have a bachelor's degree in Human Resources with at least 2 years of human resource management experience preferred. SHRM-CP is a plus. Education Industry, iSolved and/or other Human Capital management software experience is a plus. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: labor relations, employment law, talent acquisition, employee benefits, development programs, company culture, and performance management.

Initial Duties:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open and future positions
  • Collaborates with division/departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Meets with university personnel and establishes human resource funnel for fulfillment of company growth and ongoing hiring needs
  • Attends job fairs and understands hiring landscape
  • Manage the onboarding process for all new hires (contract labor force included)
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs

Potential Future Duties:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or HR/Business Administration, or related field required.

Physical Requirements

This position requires significant amounts of computer work, reading of printed and digital documents, and the need to attend meetings. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
